Tsitsi Dangarembga, Writer / Film Maker

Dangarembga is one of Zimbabwe’s most esteemed writers and has published several short stories, plays, novels and screenplays. Her debut novel, Nervous Conditions, was the first to be written in English by a black woman from Zimbabwe. It won the African Section of the Commonwealth Writers Prize in 1989. Her latest novel, This Mournable Body has been placed on the shortlist for the 2020 Booker Prize. She has recently made the headlines with her arrest during a peaceful demonstration in Harare.
